On Friday, a couple of our students had the opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled day at the Linner's Lil Barn Pumpkin Patch in Beaver City with other students from schools throughout ESU 11. The students participated in a variety of exciting activities, including riding big tricycle bikes, playing in bounce houses, exploring the corn bin, and taking part in a water duck race. They also enjoyed eating lunch and spending time with students from other schools. One student said his favorite part was the big tricycle bikes and another student stated everything was his favorite.

It was a wonderful opportunity for students to try new activities, build social skills, interact with new peers, and create positive memories outside of the classroom. Everyone had the chance to enjoy a Friday full of fun, laughter, and new experiences!

PreK had a great time at Homestead Pumpkin Patch. They bounced on the giant pillows, road the zip line and the new cars, made it out of the corn maze, and drove the combine. Lou also read us a couple of funny Halloween stories.

Our Family & Consumer Science students had a delicious learning experience today! They learned about elderberries, their benefits, and different ways they can be used, then put their knowledge to work by making their very own elderberry jelly. 🫐 We also learned just how easy it can be to make homemade bread using a bread machine! After all that hard work, we got to enjoy the best part—fresh homemade bread topped with our homemade elderberry jelly.

Thank you to all who supported our Eustis-Farnam Scholastic Book Fair this year. We sold over 300 books and earned enough to keep $590 worth of books for the library. Thank you for all you do to keep our students reading and learning!

📞🌾 Phone a Farmer Friday — September Recap! 🌾📞 September gave our Ag Math students the opportunity to learn from three incredible ag professionals, and each conversation gave us something new to think about! 🐄 Jon Schaben — Sale Barn Auctioneer We learned that there is a lot more to an auctioneer’s chant than just talking fast! Students learned how bids are communicated, how quickly large amounts of money can move during an auction, and even some of the specific colors and terminology used in the sale barn. We’re hoping to get the chance to see an auction in person soon! 🇺🇸🐂 Jeff Reed — Cattle Rancher & Former Marine Our conversation with Jeff took us from the Marines to cattle ranching, feral hogs, flood irrigation, and even alpha-gal! Students enjoyed connecting what they heard to things they see closer to home and learning about challenges that can look very different from one part of the country to another. 🌱 Jim Milne — Agronomist Jim opened our eyes to just how many different crops are grown in Nebraska and what goes into checking and maintaining them. We also talked about careers in agriculture beyond actually farming. Students really liked learning how an agronomist can play such an important role in helping farmers make decisions — and that the career can offer a flexible schedule! One of the best parts of Phone a Farmer Friday is showing students that agriculture is so much bigger than they may realize. There are countless careers, experiences, and opportunities connected to agriculture, and we love giving our students the chance to hear directly from the people doing the work. 🌾 A huge THANK YOU to Jon, Jeff, and Jim for taking the time to talk with our class and share your knowledge and experiences! We appreciate you helping our students learn beyond the classroom.

PreK welcomed our first W.O.W (World of Wonder) visitor, Meteorologist Tim Reith. He discussed different types of weather and seasons and read a weather story. He also brought Wilfred the Weather Walrus who taught the kids what to do (and not to do) when it's bad weather.
